At one point or another, somewhere between kindergarten and convalescence, many get the urge to put pen to paper, and write poetry. Most times though those words end up in the trashcan or lost in the ashes of time, because few have the courage to publish their innermost feelings as poetry. But with the recent surge in self-publishing, poets are crawling out of that shell of insecurity and publishing their works. That is the case with one woman, Rita Sedacy, who is now on her third publication of poems in the past few years. Sedacy visited our studios today to show the world what she's got to offer.

Rita Sedacy, Poet
“Its about love, sad poems and happy poems because love is not just always happy. It has its sad times. My ideas I decided to share them because some people or most people experience the same things that I have and I want them to know that its okay, its life, that’s how love is. My inspiration came from a loved one and we both shared love poems. We did other poems too but we connected with our love poems and so most of them were what we shared so I decided to share them with the public.”

Sedacy's book, "Joy and Pain" is being sold at Brodies.
