They may be over 50 but the Isla Bonita calendar girls we're going to introduce you to are willing to test the much younger Belikin girls anytime, anyplace because what they lack in youth they make up for in daring. The 13 women range in age from 55 to 78 and they are proudly flaunting their age and bodies for a good cause. The women, who are from San Pedro, formed a calendar club which with the help of the island's business community and hope to raise $35,000 to help needy students. Miss May Jan Brown and Miss December Caroline Windsor stopped by our studios and told us why the calendar is racy but not raunchy.

"We're over 50 and we think that we've done a very good job at being in the calendars and to show people that we could do something tastefully and that we're still foxy at our age. One of the things that the calendar girls did in their movie was to make sure that they did things that gave people a little bit of a giggle but still there's nothing wrong with showing a little skin."

Was it a lot of fun taking the pictures etc?
Jan Brown,
"Oh it has just been a hoot. It has just really been fun. We've had quite a sistership developed through all of this. This is a thirteen month calendar so we go into January as well. We have the calendars for sale and we are raising $35,000 total and we hope that we will be able to donate as much as we possibly can. Our children are our future and that is why we entered this project."

"I just want to add that I would love everybody to come and support San Pedro, support the school system because if this goes well, hopefully we can take this and extend it further next year and support more schools across Belize."
The calendars retail for $20 and are now available in Belize City at the Tourism Village and major supermarkets.
