They made headlines earlier this month when they were selling tickets and former Police Constable Aldo Ayuso allegedly roughed them up. Well despite that bump in the road, the King's Park Committee continued planning for their fund raiser and tomorrow night they will hold the first ever miss King's Park pageant. While this might not be pageant season, we met the contestants this evening and they told us how one pageant will be able to feed 75 children.
The contestants are:
Adrianna Garnett, 15 years old
Shanice Bowen, 13 Years old
Samantha Grant, 16 Years Old
Raquel Flowers, 17 years old
Kathleen Vasquez,
Lydia Smith, 14 years old
Tiffara Grant, 14 years old
Leroy Green, Trainer
"This is the first ever Miss King's Parks Pageant. There will be eight lovely, intelligent, and talented ladies vying for the contest. It is really a community based affair. The monies raised from the event will go towards a toy drive and children's dinner which will be held on Friday at Lavern's residence right here in King's Park. The ladies will be wearing casual wear, sports wear, evening gown, and there will be an intelligence section and a talent section. So it promises to be very interesting, highly entertaining, and it is something worth attending."
Showtime is at the Bliss tomorrow night at 7 pm and tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children. The money raised will be used to feed 75 children on Friday. They also hope to raise enough money to send each child home with a toy.
