When it comes to dancehall reggae right now - Baby Cham is the hottest ticket. The Jamaican musician will headline the third annual Guinness and Smirnoff Valentine's Bash on Saturday night. But the promoters say that because of scheduling difficulties, they won't arrive until Saturday. The sends up a red flag for Belizean concert goers who've recently been burned by Anthony B. and Gregory Isaacs. So, the big question tonight is if Baby Cham and reggae crooner Da'Ville will come at all. The promoters swear by it, and to prove it, they set up a call to Canada and Jamaica for answers.
Keith Swift Reporting,
He is the artist behind the hugely popular ghetto story and via telephone from his hotel room in Canada - Baby Cham told 7NEWS that he'll be bringing his story to Belize on Saturday.
Baby Cham,
"I am on my Canadian tour right now. We leave here Saturday morning on the first flight out straight to Belize. My full band will be there also. It will be a live band concert. It will be just a joyride, nothing but a joyride for Belize."
Keith Swift,
Cham are you going to have energy because we know that you are flying in on the day of the concert and a lot of people are wondering if you will tired?
Baby Cham,
"I take a lot of vitamin C, I am alright. As far as doing a lot of shows, the energy is not a problem."
Baby Cham will perform alongside Da'Ville. We also spoke to Da'Ville via telephone yesterday. He was in Jamaica and told us that similarly he will arrive in Belize on Saturday.
Da'ville,
"Da'ville coming to give 150%. I will give you the full force, the full dose."
Keith Swift,
You are not coming in until Saturday. Any reason for that?
Da'ville,
"Because a engagement somewhere else the day before but I will definitely be there."
Junior Ranking along with the Hard Drive Band arrive in Belize on Friday. After their arrival on Saturday, Baby Cham and Da'ville will be in a motorcade which begins at 3 pm from Caesar Ridge Road.
