Yesterday, Steven Okeke braved the elements to launch an $80,000 fundraising drive to complete the Phillip Goldson bust-sculpture. Well, this evening a defeated Okeke called our studio to say it's over. Showing nothing close to the legendary perseverance of the man he seeks to honor with the bust, he says that as of today his 5 year pledge to raise money is over.
Okeke adds that he is willing to hand over the project to someone else. He says that anyone who contributed and feels the need to recover their money from him can do so.
