It's independence eve and tonight there's a crush of soca and reggae dancehall artists in Belize to entertain Belizeans as they usher in Independence Day. There will be three concerts in Belize City, one in Dangriga, and one in Cayo. The main event will be in the city where in one corner there is Taurus Riley, Kiprich, and Blacker and in the other reggae songbird Tami Chynn. Who'll win? We'll let you decide but Keith Swift_got a preview of both.
Tony Matterhorn,
"Well Belize I am the host today on Channel 7 and you know we have two tourists. This is Kiprich and that is Blacker and they are really tourists in Belize because they don't know nothing about Belize. Actually we're planning to dip Blacker in the Blue Hole and leave him there. So stayed tuned, Channel 7 - Matterhorn again. Happy independence."
It was madness at the airport this morning as dancehall and reggae artists Tony Matterhorn, Blacker, Kiprich, Tauras Riley, and Tami Chynn arrived for performances tonight. Blacker and Kiprich will be at Old Belize while Tony Matterhorn will be in Dangriga.

Taurus Riley,
"It's a very special song and its intended to make women feel nice about themselves and to hold them head up high so respect to everybody who support the song and just stay royal, try to look at yourself and keep your head up and look positive."
Going to head to head with these masters of reggae and dancehall will be Tami Chynn, the unassuming reggae songbird from Jamaica. She'll be at Club Next.
Keith Swift,
What can people expect from you?
Tami Chynn,
"Just something fun, energetic, something sexy, something fresh, and truly Jamaican you know. It will be a fun show."
Keith Swift,
So you're Jamaican?
Tami Chynn,
"Well I am mixed with black, white, Chinese, and a little bit of Cherokee so I am mixed up but I'm Jamaican all in all."
[Singing 'Over and Over']
The third concert in the city will be Oscar B at the Radisson. Tony Matterhorn will make an appearance at Why Not Island tonight in Dangriga.
