20 year old Andre and Alton Herrera are cousins who’ve been performing since they were 12. They’ve been on stages and on the radio but not on television. And that’s why they are excited about their first music video which they released this week. It’s called “craving” and they travelled from their home in Corozal to our studio Belize City to premiere it.
Andre Herrera, Performer
“We are just introducing our first video to Belize City, to Belize the whole country, ‘Craving the Girls,’ and we are just trying to promote ourselves, our band, us, and everything.
We often saw lot of Belizean artists bringing out Belizean girl songs so we wanted to try it our for ourselves so that’s what we did. We decided not to name it Belizean girls but rather something else so it would draw more attention because when people hear ‘Belizean girls’ they think Belizean and the Belizean mind state is that Belizean artists are not good enough so that is why we tried to be a little different.”
Alton Herrera, Performer
“I just feel happy about the video done and we get through with it. Nobody has given us bad comments about it.”
Andre Herrera,
“I’ve been in music for about 8 years but I picked up music at the age of 12. Music kind drew me to it. It is not like a choice whether I wanted to do music, I just found myself doing music and found myself loving it.”
Alton Herrera,
“Music is my life. I just want people to know we really love music and anywhere we hear music we happy and we just want to play music and push other people into the music and make them get to like it too.”
