There will be two reggae concerts on Saturday night. The most talked about is at the Cahal Pech in Cayo where busy signal will perform. He has been in the country since yesterday and today he told us why he feels like he’s at home.
Busy Signal, Performing Saturday
“I just want to big up everybody dah Belize. Belize feel like Jamaica so far. The weather, I don’t have to have on no sweater or trench coat and everything is nice. The girls look nice. We see the thugs and the gangsters. It is just a blessing and just big up all the fans of Busy Signal. Big up. It is a vibe like I said. We just are here for the first time.”
Keith Swift,
You write own songs?
Busy Signal,
“Definitely all my songs I create and write and I just try and bring new creativity and new topics and concepts to the world.”
Keith Swift,
And it is from personal experiences?
Busy Signal,
“Yes it is, most of them. You have some of them from other people’s experiences and it is just everyday life and it is more like a real stuff.”
Keith Swift,
So what is the story behind ‘Me Nah Go Ah Jail Again?’
Busy Signal,
“I been to jail when I was younger. For almost a year I was in jail so it is like not just a song, it is of a real life story and I sing it out in a song. But it is not just another song. It is a real life experience.”
Keith Swift,
Etana is performing the same night as you. Why should people go to your show?

Busy Signal,
“I am Busy Signal. I represent for me and my fans.”
And while Busy Signal will be at Cahal Pech, Etana will be in Belize City at Club Next. This is her second trip to Belize. The first was 3 years ago when she was a backup singer for Richie Spice. But Itana is the main event and today she told us why you should choose her over Busy Signal.
Etana, Performing Saturday
“A vibe, a serious serious vibe. Even if it is a love song there is still a message in it and it is a vibe. There are strong messages in every one of my songs and it is straight straight reality. And don’t stand up and expect me to be on the pretty girl thing, I will bring it hard so just come and just feel the vibe and exchange some good energy.”
Etana will also make a guest appearance at Youth for the Future’s Youth Fest tomorrow.
