Michael Jackson is dead. In case you haven’t heard, the king of pop died from a heart attack in a Los Angeles hospital this afternoon. The news tonight though isn’t just about his death – it is about the death of a part of an icon of global culture known from Swaziland to Stann Creek, Pyongyang, North Korea to Punta Gorda, Toledo. And no matter how you felt about the king of pop, good bad or indifferent, we’ll bet you knew at least one song: whether it was Billy Jean, Thriller, We are the World, or Off the Wall for those old schoolers. And in Belize City, where we were moonwalking down the Alberts in the 80’s his sudden passing was all the talk in the city. This evening we hit downtown to get reaction about his death.
