There was a minor accident close to noon at thee junction of Princess Margaret Drive and Coney Drive between a Saturn car and a carrier truck loaded with cement bricks. No one was hurt but it provides a useful lesson in road safety and awareness. Both drivers declined to give us an interview or their names, but the woman driving the car was almost crushed when she cut in alongside a truck. The truck makes wide turns, and it was in the center lane when it started to turn right on to Princess Margaret Drive. He says he had on his indicator but the woman in the car said she didn’t see it and she went into the turning lane. By the time she realized he was turning right, the truck was on top of the car, and all she could do was hope not to be crushed.

In the end, her car did suffer extensive damage on the left hand side, but no one was seriously injured. The right turn at Coney Drive, because it is unto a dual carriage way, is a tight turn and trucks have to start from the center lane.
