She has been painting for about 20 years, and for the first time Miriam Ochoa known by her artistic name, "Noya" will be showing back home after 10 years abroad. We caught up with her today as she told us how she got her start in art.:....

Miriam Ochoa, Artist
"I decided to start painting when I was 20 years old that that's what I wanted to do with my life. That's what I wanted professionally to do. I got married and sidetrack, so I only continue painted as a hobby. What made me decide was when I was in 6th form I took an art class and I realize that I really love it; I really love playing with colors."

Emaun Hyde
"Where do your inspirations for your paintings come from?"

Miriam Ochoa
"The inspirations come from the image that strikes me, images that speak to me. I would be looking at a magazine or a postcard or a picture that I have taken and the image will tell me. Most of the images just happen to be women. I've always wanted to have an exhibition and I've always put if off and I realize that life is short and I have to go after what I want with determination and that's what I am doing now."

The collection will be on Display at the Bliss Centre for performing arts tonight starting at 6pm.
