One man who doesn't need a scholarship is the entertainer Berne; we'd say he has something like an MBA in the art of self- promotion.

True enough, James Brown had Frankie Crocker as his hype man, Chuck D had Flavor Flav, and Berne? Well, he has BERNE!

And he's back on the hype circuit again with his latest release "Dileeyu".

He gave us a "hyper" preview today:

Berne - Artist

"The new project 'Dileeyu' is the baddest thing right now in the streets of Belize.'Bad', like I said, B-A-D - Believing and Dreaming - we have songs on this album like "Success and Happiness". We have songs on the album like 'BAD', which is causing a whole lot of controversy right now in Belize with the Carnival Song Competition. The carnival song is crazy - hype - we want fun. We want to celebrate - we want to jump up on top of the truck and get tangled up in the wire, you know what I mean? When it's carnival time in Belize, Jules, we are thinking about a hype fun time. So all of those carnival songs that are entering the competition that are those slow types - yeah, we'll march down the road with our hand to our side - we are not into that! We are into something far hyper than that. We are in something crazy - exciting. So when we come out to Memorial Park, this Saturday at 7:30 p.m., to see a performance, we want to see a performance, you know what I mean. That's what we want. That's what the people want. Everything is 'Dileeyu', sung cate dileeyu, Jules, talk to me."

The album is being released on Friday but Berne being Berne, it had already been pre-released from March and he says he's already sold five thousand copies. At this point we'd be wise to quote one of those hype men and say don't believe the hype, but Berne says he has proof of it on his Facebook site where one thousand people are pictured individually holding the album. We wouldn't dare argue with that...
