And police week ended today as officers from the Belize City police department made a special dessert for the elderly at the Sister Cecilia Old Folks home. The team served the elderly with a hot meal and after they all indulged in activities such as a little dancing. We got a sneak peek.
Sgt. Elroy Carcamo, Organizer

"The Belize Police Department Eastern Division have come together to visit the elderly here at Sister Cecilia. The purpose for this is to show our appreciation for the elderlies. Most of the time people would forget about the elderly and put them aside and so forth. We want them to know that we are still here for them. We have members from the different units of the department that came in today and serve them their tea. Later on we will be giving them some desert and singing for them so that they can go to rest because usually they go in by 5:30-6:00."
"Their desert for today is jello and ice cream."
Monica Bodden
"It was done by the police force?"
Sgt. Elroy Carcamo, Organizer
"We made the jello but we bought the ice cream."
Monica Bodden
"You care to tell me how you feel as an officer to actually give back to these old folks?"
Sgt. Elroy Carcamo, Organizer
"I feel proud; it's not every time that you have that opportunity to do certain things like this and its gives you the appreciation to appreciate not only the elderlies here but the elderly all across the country of Belize."
The department plans to continue giving back to the community in initiative such as today.
