And while some departments are fighting the new SI others, like the Belize Coast Guard, are working around it. Their mission today was Christmas as they rode through the City delivering turkey and ham plates with all the trimmings to their young and diligent sea Cadets who have been missing out on their programs since Covid struck.
And while they were socially distanced some of them did get a glimpse of each other today when they headed to headquarters to pick up Christmas Lunch. The majority however got it dropped off on their doorstep with Lt. Gilroy Lewis playing not Santa but at least Christmas Chef.
Programs like the Sea Cadets which offer both stimulation and a thrice-weekly meal to children have been suspended until the Pandemic subsides.
