Tonight, Tik Tok's Crate challenge continues to wreak havoc across social media.
The videos have received millions of views on platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter. And increasingly countless copycats, Belizeans included, have posted their own challenges to social media.
Cherisse Halsall reports on how the so-called milk crate challenge is shaping up here at home.
It's here, a challenge that sneaked into Belize territory just as stealthily as any Covid variant… Yup, the viral Tik Tok Crate challenge has landed in Belize. But it's been tough going for the challengers, many of whom have had to supplement with a particularly Belizean element, the pigtail bucket.
And over the weekend when it became clear the trend was catching on companies like Bowen and Bowen
And Quality Poultry prepared to announce that they weren't prepared to lend, rent, or sell any quantity of their crates.
But in this near summer lockdown where there's very little to do this quite dangerous trend is still catching, Belizean style.
It's unclear how many minor or serious injuries have been sustained from the challenge, but some of the most viral videos show those climbing the pyramids taking hard falls.
In light of the potential dangers associated with the challenge, platforms like TikTok have disabled the ability to search for the term "milk crate challenge" and some videos of the challenge have since been removed.
