On Monday we told you about the 5 Belizean artists who'd been signed to a distribution deal with Universal Music Group.

Well one of them, Marlyn Vansen, has backed out. She took to Facebook today to announce that decision saying quote:

"...after careful consideration and much thought I've decided not to sign. It is an incredible opportunity for our Belizean Artists, as we dream of this from the very beginning of our careers, however as I make decisions for my career(and) it does not align with my path.

I...would like to say THANK YOU once more to Shyne Barrow and all my fans who no matter what have stuck by my side!"

For his part Shyne Barrow doesn't seem to resent the singer's decision; on the contrary, he told us via text this afternoon: "I have supported Marlyn Vansen from the beginning of her career until now. I wish her the very best as she continues to develop her career in Music."

Vansen's decision comes after criticism that the distribution deal with the biggest record liable in the world isn't all it's chalked up to be with artist Jenko Veli, a man who's made no secret of his dislike for Shyne, calling the deal predatory.

Still, the deal seems to be working out for the likes of Stig and TY Music who've praised it as both a bridge and an opportunity.
