It's been almost a month since hurricane Lisa tore through the Belize District and many residents are still without a roof over their heads - or at least one that doesn't leak when it rains.

The process to rebuild homes and fix roofs that are damaged and destroyed has been frustratingly slow - bogged down by bureaucracy - meanwhile residents have only a tarp to keep themselves and their possessions dry.

But Pastor Scott Stirm of Jubilee Ministries is trying to ease some of the burden. For the past two weeks, he's been gathering building materials and assisting residents with roof repairs. He says right now, he's focusing on the elderly and disabled, and says that if you know anyone who fits that category that needs help, you can reach out to him.

We spoke to him today in Western Pines.

Again, that number is 607-9635.
