Reggae Dancehall artist Dexta Daps is slated to be the headliner at the "Shut Down Belize" concert on Saturday, February 11th at the Marion Jones stadium.

But, that's the same Dexta Daps who was forced to cancel his concert in March of 2020 - because of COVID concerns. In that case, many fans said they got stuck with tickets they could not refund - so they were kinda waiting for his return.

But, this is a new show spearheaded by a new promoter. And today, the promoter in that previous cancelled show sent out a notice saying, quote, "Promoters behind the 2020 Dexta Daps Concert are having a press conference tomorrow….on an injunction and lawsuit they have filed against him that is to be served upon his arrival in the country."

Well, that's not quite so. In fact the matter went before the Supreme Court yesterday where Justice Martha Alexander denied the injunction application and agreed with the new promoter Amir Garcia. His attorney Dean Barrow successfully argued against the injunction application brought by the attorney for the 2020 promoter Jarard Ysaguirre. She also awarded costs to Barrow.

Today Amir Garcia spoke to us via Zoom about the outcome:.

We'll have the other side of the story for you tomorrow night after that press conference.
