The Spotlight initiative, a global programme and partnership between the United Nations and the European Union, has invested 500 million Euros globally into creating interventions and approaches to ending gender based violence against women and girls. Over 14 million has been allocated to the Caribbean, and for the past two days the UN along with the National Women's Commission hosted training and workshops to provide technical support to civil society women's movements in Belize. Jomarie Lanza visited one of their training sessions today.
