If you've ever read the Amandala newspaper, you'll likely know what UBAD is - the United Black Association for Development.
But, as they say, the full story has never been told - because it was a radical movement - which faced opposition from the colonial establishment and the political power structure. Those opposing forces, and other internal factors caused the organization to splinter in its nascence - and because of that the history has been shrouded in enigma.
Now, for the first time - the closest you'll get to the full story of the rise and demise of UBAD is being told in a new book.
Jules Vasquez was at the launch today:
The book is available through the Image Factory.
