And to get things back on track - Deputy Hyde went into an emergency meeting with the stevedores at 1:00 pm at Raccoon street station.

It lasted only about an hour and when it was done - the stevedores agreed to go back to work:

Leonora Flowers, CWU President
"There's been a little breakthrough, not happy as yet, but pleased to report that there's been a breakthrough. We returned to work, a gang is going in this evening, and then we have accepted that the PM meets with us on Monday morning."

Reporter
"What's the breakthrough?"

Leonora Flowers, CWU President
"The breakthrough is that we were able to have a discussion with the Deputy Prime Minister and he kind of impressed upon the team and the stevedores that let's give peace a chance."

"We kind of bent over back a little bit more and he will try and work with us."

Marlon Middleton, Chief Rep., CWU/Stevedore
"Every time its good will, good will, good faith gesture for the stevedores. So, you all come to the table the correct way with us."

Reporter
"If Monday the Prime Minister cannot meet with you for whatever reason, then all bets are off."

Marlon Middleton, Chief Rep., CWU/Stevedore
"Well, no more good faith gesture after that."
