For one month this summer police officers will be able to take their children to work with them. The police officers will be fighting crime while their children will be hitting the books. The program started two weeks ago and will run for another two. Commander of Patrol Branch at Eastern Division ASP Edward Broaster says the program allows officers to show their children that they care.
ASP Edward Broaster,
"The program is to tutor them in math and English as well as behavioral modification. We want to ensure that these children are well tutored to participate in the upcoming school year and they do well in these areas.
Oftentimes we neglect our own children for the community and we want to show the police that their children are important as well and that we can run programs that will be beneficial to them and to kind of boost their morale and give them some motivation."
The cost is $10 per family.
