School is starting soon and the new government provided textbooks including Chispas, will be in classrooms. But just to make sure everyone is on the same page and not the page with the faulty maps, Education Minister Francis Fonseca yesterday held a meeting with the teachers union and school managers. According to a government release, the publishers will provide 3 wall maps to each school and will print corrected versions of the textbooks in 4 to six months.

The Ministry also agreed to have inserts of the corrected maps printed locally to be put into the textbooks. According to a government release, these measures were accepted as a lasting, good faith solution.

The Ministry also stressed its position that parents cannot be required to purchase any other textbooks, as the government provided textbooks are the only ones required in the 5 core subject areas. And with that, according to the release, the Teacher's Union and managers expressed support for the textbook programme.
