And, changing gears now...

On Monday, 55 schools were given the greenlight to reopen - though many of them did not immediately take the opportunity. Edward P Yorke waited until today to open its doors, but they've taken a unique approach to the in class instruction since they're only allowing students who are struggling to come back to campus. Today, Courtney Menzies sat down with the principal to learn more about their strategy for the phased reopening.

On May 10th, during the second phase of the reopening, the school will be bringing back all fourth formers.

Partnering For Development

While EP Yorke celebrated its reopening, Love Foundation and the Ministry of Human Development is celebrating a brand new partnership. Today they signed an MOU, signalling that they would use their combined resources to strengthen the safety and wellbeing of Belizeans - starting with human trafficking.

The signing took place at The Hub on Chetumal Street and Minister Dolores Balderamos Garcia told us the importance of the government partnering with civil society.

Hostel is Princess Anne's no Longer

While we had the opportunity, we asked the Human Development Minister to discuss the very early plans to rename the Princess Royal Youth Hostel. She told us that the process to select a new name needs to be discussed, as well as the possibility of providing some sort of prize to the person who selects the new name.
