The gang intervention program that was started a few months ago continued today with the handing over of dozens of seed packets. The goal is for the gang members who were detained as part of the state of emergency to live at the Northern Regional Youth Training Facility, previously Rhaburn Ridge, at mile 36 on the Philip Goldson Highway. 15 of them will be using the seeds, donated by the Nancy Marin Foundation, to learn how to sustain themselves. They will receive training, financial assistance, and eventually, land to start up their own business. At the ceremony, William Dawson, the chairman of the Leadership Intervention Unit, explained how this will benefit the men.
