Earlier in the year, we told you how there was a new configuration of the Belize Parliamentary Alliance Against Hunger and Malnutrition. It's one of the initiatives that has survived the change in government from the Barrow to the Briceno administration, simply because it transcends the traditional practice of partisan politics.
That's because the issue of hungry children going to school without anything to eat is an evil not even the PUDP's can argue about.
So, the B-PAHM held a session this afternoon, where the Chair and members of the Alliance gave a detailed account of all the activities they have been engaging in the fight against hunger and malnutrition.
Also, 288 seedlings were donated by the Ministry of Agriculture for distribution to Parliamentarians who make up the Alliance.
We spoke with House Speaker Valerie Woods about the parliamentary push to fight this persistent problem:
As part of today's activities, a new theme song, created by Belizean artists was unveiled for the first time. It's called "End Hunger", at the end of the news, we'll share it with you.
