Cuba Scholarships Resume

And, finally tonight, 11 Belizeans will be traveling to Cuba in pursuit of higher education.

The students who were awarded the annual scholarship in 2021 had been delayed from their departures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But today the soon-to-be-off scholars were honored in a ceremony attended by their host country's ambassador and the heads of Belize's Ministry of Education:

Minister Fonseca also encouraged both students and parents telling them that while the going may get rough in Cuba they should lean on each other from afar for support and focus on the overall goal of higher education.
