Throughout our newscast tonight, you've seen Police Commissioner Chester Williams and Home Affairs Minister Kareem Musa grant comments on different topics of national interest, including the holiday weekend mass shooting in Hopkins Village.

Those press encounters happened today at the launch of the National Forensic Youth Summer Camp. It's a joint venture between the Ministry of Education, the Police Department, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ariel Rosado Foundation, and several private sector partners. The idea is to provide youths who have expressed an interest in forensics to be given summer camp training in the basics of forensics and crime scene analysis.

7news stopped by for the opening ceremony, and here's what the main speakers had to say to the participants of the summer camp:

The camp will run for an entire week and should come to close next Wednesday. The participants will get to visit different parts of the country for their forensics lessons.
