The Department of Youth Services is hosting a Summer Camp in The St Martin's area, open to children between 6 and 18. The kids are being taught a wide range of skills from gardening to even bicycle and tire repair. The gardening portion of the camp is being taught by a local resident, Perry "Sticks" Smith. He believes that by using a hands-on approach, getting down into the dirt, will educate the kids on the importance of food security and farming. Smith along with 25 children have been working diligently inside his greenhouse, planting, propagating and transferring seedlings.
The summer camp is set to last for only one week, along with other camps being hosted by the department of youth services countrywide.
