And while Shyne was kinda blasé about the motion - the PUP was all hot and bothered about it today. In a response lacking all proportionality - the party pumped out no less than 8 statements declaring full, unflinching confidence in party leader and Prime Minister John Briceno.

In what we can only call a stunning over-reaction, we got statements of unstinting support from the:

United Women's Group The Marshalls Community The Order of Distinguished Service The Belize Youth Movement The PUP National Executive The Western Caucus

And The Cabinet plus parliamentary caucus - accompanied by an inspiring picture of the whole gang piled up behind PM Briceno in the Cabinet room.

The declarations of support were so stirring that the only shortcoming was the English language's scarcity of superlatives for how strong the confidence is!

This evening, Senior Minister Francis Fonseca underscored that the confidence is ABSOLUTE:

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education

"I spoke on this already and I said it from the very beginning. There's no question about the absolute confidence that the cabinet and the parliamentary caucus has in the prime minister, the leader of our party. We had our caucus yesterday because we are preparing for a house meeting on Friday so we had a parliamentary caucus and coming out of that parliamentary caucus we issued a declaration of confidence just to say loudly and clearly to the nation that we stand firmly behind our prime minister behind our leader and we have absolute confidence in his leadership and the leadership of our government."
