Meanwhile, the unemployment rate in September of this year stands at 1.9% - maintaining the trend of unbelievably low unemployment figures. Statistician Annia Mejia explained more.

"The unemployed are defined as persons of working age who were without work but actively look for work within the last four weeks but were available to start working within the next two weeks, thus in September 2025 the unemployment rate stood at 1.9%. Females continue to have slightly higher unemployment rates than males with females unemployment at 3% compared to 1.1% for males."
"In September 2025, 3/5 of the employed population were males. Nearly half of the employed persons were aged 25-44 years old, 35% had completed primary level education, 26.9% had completed secondary level education and 24.7% had completed tertiary level education. 71.6% were employees while 28.3% were self employed."
The labor force participation rate stood at 58.1%, an increase of 1.8 percentage points when compared to September 2024.
