And in terms of multidimensional poverty, that decreased by 3 percentage points. Christian Orellana, the Manager of Census, Surveys and Administrative Statistics outlined those numbers:

"The incidents in September 2025 was 19.1%. This means that 19.1% of the population was multi-dimensionally poor. The intensity of poverty was 37.8% which means that on average a poor household had a deprivation score of 37.8% or they were deprived in about 6 to 7 indicators of the 17. The multidimensional poverty index is 0.072. the incidents can also be reported in terms of count. In September 2025, 76,779 persons among 17,753 households were considered to be multidimensionally poor. We now compare the 2024 MPI results to the 2025 MPI results. A decrease of 3 percentage points was observed for the incidents. This is as a result of 13,095 individuals among 2,809 households coming out of being multidimensionally poor. When comparing the intensity between both years, it can be observed that the severity of both years, it can be observed that the severity of poverty showed very little change."

"Out of the 17 indicators saw improvement between both periods with the largest reductions being observed in food security, which experienced a decrease in depravation by 6.7 percentage points followed by dependency which dropped by 3.8 percentage points and sanitation with a decline of 3.1 percentage points. However, slight increases were observed in overcrowding and informal employment where it rose by 3.8 percentage points, and 3 percentage points respectively."
