In other related news, 16 officers from the Elections And Boundaries Department have completed a specialized training program, in partnership with Galen University to enhance their capacity to manage and oversee electoral processes in Belize.
They began the program in October of 2024, covering key areas on electoral law, voter registration systems, boundary, management and dispute resolution. A release issued by GOB details that "The program delivered necessary skills and knowledge to uphold the democratic process and maintain public trust, emphasizing instruction in Good Governance, Ethics, and Transparency. Officers engaged in scenario-based courses designed to reinforce impartiality, accountability, and adherence to the rule of law in the execution of their duties."
