In this swampland city, crocodiles live in our midst and so tales of croc encounters in close quarters are regular features on the news. This week Patrick Harvey was working in the cemetery when he came across a 3 foot crocodile. Now most of us would run but Harvey captured the crocodile and when we met him earlier this week, he had it on his shoulder and was taking it home as his pet.

Patrick Harvey, Captured Crocodile
“I was working in the burying ground and I saw it and I grabbed it by the mouth and caught it.”

Keith Swift,
What will you do with it?

Patrick Harvey,
“I will go and sell it and if I can’t sell it I guess I will have to take it to the zoo.”

Keith Swift,
Is this your first experience with a crocodile?

Patrick Harvey,
“No, this is the second one. I had one smaller than this before but it couldn’t get tame so I sold it to the zoo. But this is the second time I hold a crocodile. This is a nice animal so I guess I will have to try to sell it or take it to the zoo. Only that I can do because I can’t take care of this because this is a wild animal.”

The crocodile is a protected species.
