And in other news, a memorandum of agreement was signed between the Ministries of Economic Development and Rural Transformation for the continuation of the Resilient Rural Belize Program.

In this portion of the program, both ministries will help small rural farmers to access irrigation services. This agreement will allow seven farming cooperatives to access geophysical resistivity testing, drilling, and the constructions of water wells by the Rural Transformation Ministry. The first of these wells will be constructed in November.

At the signing, the program director spoke about the importance of the agreement.

The irrigation wells will be constructed for farming cooperatives in the villages of Concepcion, Xaibe, Seven Miles El Progresso, Trio, San Jose, Cow Pen, and Maskall.
