And in our last story for tonight, we take you to a summit that conservation NGOs held last month.

Representatives of several of those NGOs attended, and they exchanged ideas and experiences about the latest conservation techniques, including a SMART conservation Tool, which uses GIS technology and mapping to aid the rangers and other enforcement personnel in the conversation community to carry out patrols and catalog their findings.

The forum was held under the auspices of BIOPAMA, which is short for Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management. This program assists African, Caribbean, and Pacific countries in addressing their priorities for improved management and governance of biodiversity and natural resources.
