Tonight on the news you've seen a lot from Kareem Musa as the Minister of Home Affairs. But we also got a question about his work as an area representative for Caribbean Shores. That constituency has long stretches of coastline and - like many areas along the Coast - it's being inundated by what are called King Tides right now. These are very high tides common in September and October that swallow streets and run over drains. What's the solution? And can it be climate resilient? We asked him today:

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
"Yes a huge concern as you can see with global warming that has taken place over the years that area that is affectionately known as the hanger area of our constituency. whenever it is October, we do notice that there are very high tides and the waves come in and they actually go over the seawall, what is left on the seawall and so I spoke with the minister of infrastructure this morning when I saw the videos and we will be making a request for the ministry to intervene and hopefully come up with a plan not just to fix the streets, but I'll sort of fix the entire seashore area in the hanger area of Belize city."
