And while we've seen flooding down south and in the West, Belize City's flood waters aren't as severe as they were in the past. This is because MIDH's pumping station kicked in at the right time, despite a mechanical malfunction.

According to the Chief Engineer at MIDH, the stations are actually over designed, so even with a technical issue, it can still perform up to standard. He further explained how these stations have significantly removed the issue of prolonged flooding in the Dean and Orange Street areas of Belize City.
