The Former President of the Public Service Union, Gerald Henry is demanding accountability within the union, claiming that after the 2021 AGM when he demitted office, he had accumulated 54 days of vacation leave which he was not remunerated for. Henry served as PSU President between June 2019- May 2021, and claims that three of the past presidents had received payments for the vacation days they accumulated upon leaving their position. Henry has since filed a lawsuit against the union, after a meeting with the current president, Dean Flowers, and the Caribbean Public Services Association. The CPSA has written to Flowers stating, quote, "After listening to you and perusing some correspondences we all arrived at the conclusion that Bro. Henry was owed vacation leave by the Public Service Union by virtue of the fact that he was on secondment to the union and as such was entitled to vacation leave… You did promise that our recommendations would be discussed with your executive." End quote.

We reached out to Flowers for a comment on the matter and he said, quote, "I personally cannot waste a second discussing such matters which is of no relevance to the union or the nation."

The case between Henry and the union is set to be heard on the 30th of November.
