And while active highways and roads are some of the biggest threats to these animals, what exactly is pushing them out of their natural habitats? It all boils down to deforestation, mainly for agricultural purposes, The minister told us about the attempts to mitigate this issue.

"As we deforest our areas we will have these encounters because the wildlife will be looking for feed elsewhere. The greatest part of deforestation is in the agriculture sector and especially the cattle sector, because there are larger areas that are being deforested. It is something that we have to put certain policies in place and I am happy to share that, as a unit to be established, I think, within the Ministry of, of Natural Resources, the Lands Department, so that then there is a desk that is dedicated to the land use policy. And so that will assist us in trying to curb the fast or at least the amount of, deforestation that is happening."
