A three hour public consultation was held in Red Bank Village last week where GOB intends to establish a sanctuary in two areas for Scarlet Macaws.
But some villagers are totally against it - and it has caused bitter division in the community. Despite this, the PM says that there needs to be proper communication of the benefits to scarlet macaws:
John Briceno, Prime Minister

"Well Minister Habet has not given us an update on that matter what I do believe that setting up a sanctuary for for the Scarlet Macaw is very important and I believe that with proper communication a proper discussion and discussions with where you can can can meet the the villagers and with with the respect and to make the case why it is important and how they can benefit I believe if we do that I think we can be able to, to, to convince them that is in the interests of everyone to have another sanctuary for the Scarlet Macaw."
