GOB Begins Early Preparation for Sargassum Season

We may be seeing a break right now - but Sargassum season is coming and the National Task Force is taking an early approach in preparing for the continued impacts of sargassum during the 2026 season. They are focussing on five priority coastal destinations: San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Seine Bight, Hopkins, and Placencia. "

Government has initiated a project scoping assessment to evaluate sargassum management in Caye Caulker and San Pedro.
