Tonight a 4-year-old boy who was knocked down near his home in Sandhill Village on Thursday afternoon is showing little sign of improvement and remains unconscious in the Karl Heusner Hospital.
The boy Leeton Galvez underwent a CAT Scan on Saturday and doctors told the family that the swelling in his brain has subsided somewhat and so has the internal bleeding. But that's it for the good news because 5 days later Leeton still hasn't awakened from a coma. His family continues to cling to hope and has opened an account at Atlantic Bank to solicit help with defraying Leeton's mounting medical bills. That account number is 210-712-629 and it was opened by his grandmother Irene Budd. You can also reach the family at 621-7394.
The driver of Toyota Hilux which knocked down Leeton is 24 year old Edilberto Guerra. He hasn't been charged by police yet but the family says that since our story on Friday he has visited the hospital. Guerra has told police that Leeton who was buying coconut powder for his mother appeared out of nowhere on the highway and he could not avoid hitting him.
