The three survivors from the ill-fated Placencia dive over the weekend are tonight still in the Universal Health Services Hospital. The good news is that all three: 50-year-old John Bain, 38-year-old Nancy Masters, and Japanese national Yutaka Maeda are no longer listed as critical. In fact doctors say all three are up and talking. 7NEWS understands they are scheduled to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.

Meanwhile tonight we know more about the one casualty 28 year old Abigale Brinkman.

She was a 4th year medical student at Indiana University. Her father, and possibly other family members, are reportedly on their way to Belize to claim the body. A post mortem was scheduled for today but the results have not been released.

For its part the Belize Tourism Industry Association issued a release today in which President Lucy Fleming prasied the rescue operation and stressed that there are regulations and rules on the books which need to be enforced. It is now known that when the dive group headed out on Saturday morning the boat had no radio and no backup engine. While the Tourism Board has openly criticized Captains Cabral and Tucker, so far the BTIA hasn't.
