Epileptic Woman Dies in Drain After Seizure

An epileptic woman fell into the drain and died last night in Belize City. Between 7 and 7:30 last night, 23-year-old Shelmadine Jones was walking at the corner of Douglas Jones and Castle Streets, two blocks from her home when she had an epileptic seizure and fell in the drain, which is narrow but unusually deep. At this point it is not known whether she died of drowning or if she got an injury to the head.
