It's supposed to make people better, but yesterday, the KHMH was making its neighbors sick. This was the scene at a few minutes after 5:00 when the incinerator was belching out a thick cloud of black smoke that smothered the entire neighborhood. We tried to get an on camera comment from the KHMH's CEO Alvaro Rosado, but all he would say, off camera, was that there was a malfunction in the incinerator. The operator was not able to shut it off quickly enough and that caused the wide dispersion of the smothering fog of black smoke. The incinerator burns the hospital's waste material.
