Universal Workers Reject 100% Takeover by GOB

On Friday, the Belize Medical and Dental Association declared that if government amalgamates Universal Health Services and the KHMH, then government should take over 100% of Universal - not the proposed 66%. Today Universal's staff issued a release saying that they reject that proposal.

The release outlines the achievements that universal has made, and concludes that they are, "are calling on the government and the public to recognize our worth and recognize that our country Belize needs exactly what a public/private sector Universal has to offer." The position was arrived at a general staff meeting held today according to the release, it represents 160 staff members.
