21 year old Tiffarah Castillo is in need of urgent help tonight. Her two kidneys have collapsed and the single mother of two desperately needs dialysis. But like most other kidney patients who need it, Tiffarah cannot afford the $550 per treatment and she needs 5 treatments this week. She’s hospitalized and unless she receives dialysis – her prognosis will be grim. We spoke to Tiffarah and her mother Herbell Thompson today. Tiffara told us she fears that if doesn’t get the treatment she won’t make it.

Tiffarah Castillo, Needs Dialysis
“My kidneys they are not good again. I am 21 and I am a mother of two kids. One of my kids is going to school, one of my kids is going to school directly and I wish I would be there to see him go to school and send him to school.

The way how I feel, sometimes I feel like I won’t make it, I can’t make it.”

Keith Swift,
“But you want to make it because you have your children.”

Tiffarah Castillo,
“Yeah I don’t want to give. I haven’t given up yet because I have my two kids to think about.”

Herbell Thompson, Mother
“Right now her two kidneys are messed up and we are asking for help to donate little thing because the treatment which she is getting is $550 a week and she needs five of it for this week. She doesn’t have enough blood, she needs blood. We really need a help. We really need a help because if she doesn’t get this treatment, the inside of her is already infected.”

Tiffara Castillo also needs o positive blood and you can donate in her name at the Belize Blood Bank. Anyone able to assist the family can do so by contacting Herbell Thompson at 629-2711 or by depositing donations into Saint John’s Credit Union account number 250-75.
