Much has been said about the Audibaldo Monima case. He was the recently hired Northern Regional Health Manager who was forced to resign after he was exposed as being unqualified for the job.
But Monima had a contract with a three month notice clause - so the Ministry of Health could have either sent him home directly and pay him for the next three months for work he did not complete, or they could have kept him onboard and find something for him to do until that three months expired. Well it seems the Ministry of Health has come up with a solution that seems to be a blend of both. CEO Figueroa explained.
Dr. Ramon Figueroa - CEO. Ministry of Health
"My take on it and my advice to the region was that we should - we are paying him for 3 months anyway so, we need to get back some of that money that we paid out and I have asked them to have him participate still in the management at least for the next 3 months, while we go through the process of advertising the posts for the regional manager."

"So he is still at the department?"

Dr. Ramon Figueroa - CEO. Ministry of Health
"He should be at the department. I know he was off for a period and the last time I spoke to the deputy regional manager, I had asked him to come back and help and assist during the 3 month period, because at the end of the day he has some capacity. He has some things to contribute and I think he is willing to contribute. So, we are going to work in that fashion for the next 3 months until such time as we get the right regional manager."
The post of Northern Regional Health Manager will be put up for advertisement.
