There have been three COVID related deaths between Tuesday and Wednesday.

First on Tuesday it was announced that there were two deaths in Orange Walk. The first is a woman in her 70's who had been previously admitted at the Northern Regional Hospital - and then died at home. And the second was in a man in his 60s who was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday and died within hours. His COVID diagnosis was made after he died.

And then, yesterday at the KHMH, a man in his 80's - who had tested positive for COVID - died at the KHMH ICU.

So there are now a total of 27 COVID related deaths since March, while two patients remain intubated at KHMH's ICU.

Notably in the past two days, positivity rates on tests have been going up. On Tuesday, 23% of the tests came back positive, and last night it was 27%.

So, in the past two days, 408 tests have produced 101 positive results, which works out to just about 25%, meaning one in four tests came back positive.

The Director of Health Services warns, quote, "Please continue to remain safe as cases in some communities continue to be on the rise."

That points most directly to the Orange Walk district where 43 cases have been confirmed int he past two days - and 19 of those are in the town.
